$4,000.00 Global Detoxification Fee:
This includes all office-based services related to detoxification for 8 weeks and 3 hours of outpatient counselling with a focus on relapse prevention. It will not cover medication costs. It includes office evaluations, telephone consultations, urine testing and counselling. It is payable at the time of the first visit. Cash, money order or credit cards are acceptable for payment. Personal checks are not acceptable for payment. The global fee is less than 1-2 days in the hospital and will pay for itself with one to two months of abstinence. It is a bargain for those without hospital insurance and those who want the privacy protection of our office. Think of how much you are spending for your drugs on a weekly basis!
Our only goal is to assist you in detoxifying from all addicting drugs. If you are using marijuana, either for medical or recreational use or other drugs and want to continue them, SAVE YOUR MONEY! ! ! We can’t help you.
Detoxification is only the first small step toward sobriety, and is the easiest. “Getting clean is easy, staying clean is hard.” If there is no commitment towards some type of rehab program, you are wasting your time and money. The program includes 3 hours of 1:1 counselling that is focused on relapse prevention.
At the present time we do not have contracts with any insurance companies for this type of service, and we do not have any plans to do so at the present time. You will be asked to sign an agreement, acknowledging that you are responsible for payment in its entirety.
Early Withdrawal from Program
If you decide that you have made a mistake, or you are not satisfied with our services, or we terminate our relationship with you (this will only be done for specific reasons), a portion of your payment may be refunded. The charges for our service as are accrued according to the following schedule: Initial Addiction Medicine Evaluation is $500.00
Follow-up Visits are $225.00 each. There will be 1 or 2 visits weekly (more if medically necessary) for the 8 week period. Telephone calls to adjust medical treatment will also be charged at a rate that is appropriate for the amount of time spent on the call. Total accrued charges will be more than the global fee in most instances, but there will be no additional costs to you, above the prepaid global fee, unless we treat you for a medical problem that is unrelated to your detoxification e.g. bladder infection, bronchitis or minor injuries.
If you drop out of the program before completion for any reason, and then decide to start again, within the first 30 days, we will give you a credit for a portion of your payment, and you will have to pay the difference for a total Global Detoxification Fee.
After the initial evaluation is completed, appropriate medications will be prescribed, and instructions in their proper use will be given, including dosage ranges and frequency of dosing. Most medications will be prescribed on a p.r.n. (as needed) basis.
The best results are obtained when you come in for the first visit in early withdrawal. We will give you the first dose of medicine, so that you can experience the benefit while still in the office. Allow 3-4 hours for the first visit.
Follow-up visits will include appropriate examination and close review of control of your withdrawal symptoms. Dosage changes will be made if needed. You will also deal with brief interventions and support for you and family members, with a member of our staff. A review of post-detoxification rehab plans will also be discussed, when appropriate. Any other concerns that arise can be discussed, as you feel necessary.
No medications are included in the global fee. If you have health insurance with a prescription plan, some or all of your medication costs could be covered. The cost of medications for detoxification can range between $350.00 and $500.00 over the course of detoxification. The cost will depend on the severity of withdrawal symptoms and your individual ability to tolerate the discomfort.
Medications will be prescribed on an individual basis for the following symptoms: insomnia, irritability, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, sweating, chills and goose bumps, muscle pain and joint pain. Medications can be changed if medically necessary based on individual needs and symptoms. We will not continue medications that are potentially addictive (e.g. Valium or sleeping pills) beyond a reasonable detoxification and stabilization period.
Abusive attitudes toward our staff or other patients will not be tolerated, either in person or on the telephone. If abusive behavior continues after talking to your physician, you will be discharged.
